Knocked my goal out early this week! Submitted my first #query letter for the Night of Fallen Gods.

Now to get back to work on book 2 before the end of the week (more likely month).

Tried tackling the grumpy and sunshine trope but I keep making my grumpy hero two grumpy, so much so that even I hate him as an author. How do others keep the balance? Nothing I am doing regarding this trope seems natural. It feels like I’m swinging a hammer way too far to the left, and then […]

How often do you use irony in your work? It's something easy to miss, as it's often meant to be subtle. This is why there's usually a character that points out the irony.

Everyone has writing pet peeves, things that yank them out of “the dream” while reading.

One of mine: “Next thing she knew…” or any variation thereof.

You’re a writer. Make the abrupt change in awareness palpable to the reader. Or, to quote my mom, “Use your words.”

My current race to the end of draft one includes laying down placeholder text to block out the next couple of scenes, and then filling them in.

Block, fill... Block, fill... Keep moving forward!

Maybe about 13k to go before we hit "The End".
