A post by @AubreanReverie. As of January 15, 2026, Twitter is now actively hostile to artists. First, on Christmas Eve 2025, Elon Musk gave users the ability to edit any image they want at the touch of a button. Now, the updated X Terms of Service grant the platform an irrevocable license to use all your posts, Al prompts, and outputs for Al training without opt-out options. This means every piece of art you post, every commission you share, every WIP you upload - X now owns the right to feed it into their Al models. Forever. You cannot revoke this permission. You cannot opt out unless you delete your account before January 15, 2026. If you're an artist still posting your work here after this date, you are actively training the machine that's designed to replace you. The platform has made its position clear: your work is free training data. Nothing more.
