irst Past the Post (FPTP) distorts the inputs and outcomes of elections.

Not only do most votes get ignored, but most voters are forced to "vote tactically" rather than for who they actually want.

We need #ElectoralReform.
A table that shows the outcome of the 2024 UK general election, for each party it includes their % vote share, The seats based on that % of the 650 available in the house of Commons, the seats they actually won under first past the post, and the difference between the two figures as a plus or minus.

There is too much data to reproduce in alt text, but any user that would like is proactivly invited to message me and I will supply the excel spreadsheet and or explain all of the data shown.

The headline is that Labour got 193 more seats than their vote share would grant, Conservative got 33 less, Lib dem and SNP both got 7 less, Sinn Fein got 2 more, Independents who won seats got enough votes for 13 but only 6 seats (so 7 less). Reform UK got 88 less and Green got 40 less.

Please do not hesitate to contact ‪@souptomatosoup.uk‬ if you want more information than what is offered in the alt text.

Capitalism is at the heart of most of what is wrong with the world right now.

But if the Prime Day bullshit has you tempted to make some purchases, can I instead recommend Good Store?

They sell some excellent stuff, and 100% of the profit goes to good causes.

Glad to see this! Justice Secretary has said the government will not reintroduce tribunal fees, contrary to recent reports, noting that ‘Everyone, no matter their income, should be able to get access to justice to challenge unfair behaviour at work’ www.lawgazette.co.uk/news/lammy-r...

The people who claim recognition is meaningless are similar to Badenoch claiming non-stem degrees are worthless.

They don't understand the value, so they claim there is none.

I wonder when they will realise they need to stop appealing to and legitimising the far-right and start helping voters see how nonsensical this hate-mongering is.

This is so damn scary. The book claimed that Jeffrey Epstein was the one who introduced Donald and Melania. Now the CEO of Harper UK is out.

Doing politics the right way is when the far-right regime in power memorializes a fallen influencer by terrorizing an academic that the influencer's McCarthyist organization once baselessly singled out for abuse.

The important question is if you will finally learn?

It was never an argument, but I am right.

I think generally flags are not bad, even to some degree in public places if done properly.

But a big part depends on which flag, and the message trying to be conveyed.

I have HUGE objections when ANYTHING is put up to promote hate, especially if it's co-opting a flag to do so.

Very clearly, I do, but you're proving your inability to engage with it.

As before, I sincerely hope that one day you grow up and learn.
