I haven't seen this approach. I'm currently shoring up a Meta build for December but coming back to this asap after.

Don't disagree. I think it spikes for years too.

Grew up wishing I could go, seeing it in game mags, reading everything.

Finally reached it but witnessed at the end a few years of a rapidly declining event.

Still I am lucky I caught the tail end of old E3 before the descent. I felt that energy. It was a gamedev pilgrimage. 🥺

Something about the Nintendo games

should have been killed with fire at birth

I equally, perhaps a contradiction but I feel it is true, agree with this.

A mix of the two while avoiding traditional UI is also an interesting path imo.

Not wrong, but I think the core idea needs design time and smart people picking at it
November 20, 2025 at 9:16 PM
Sure not all titles will fully apply to the idea but many can, whether you choose the hybrid approach to have motion controllers or be more traditional like a dualsense etc.
November 20, 2025 at 9:15 PM
It's not the same, but more like a mid step, thus hybrid.

Could go further to full in VR or step out more toward truly flat traditional experience.

Long time ago Minecraft on the Gear VR touched on this a bit and I think it's lost to time in the XR zeitgeist.

A fullly spatial window. 🪟

What is Hybrid VR? It is a lot like looking through a window Frame...

Is Valve's Steam Frame a window into your Steam library? A 3D window like real life you can peer into and it feels real? 🤔
