People wanted my head when a decade ago I mentioned that artists who 1) don’t have traditional jobs 2) are not married, so not in a dual income household, or has spouse to take care of things or 3) don’t come from generational wealth do not have the same experiences as other artists.

It's complicated bc *within the context of a study* it IS useful sometimes to be like, X% of the sample did y, of course it is.
But the *way* it's used to prop up industry-level sweeping claims is the worst part. It's hard to get this distinction across to people who don't care about methods

People keep saying stuff like this, while companies have been literally advertising 'AI can do your laundry, just have it analyze the tag' and then showing someone WASHING SEQUINED CLOTHING. Even the use cases they advertise are SO WRONG.
