I’ve got to turn off the Somebody Just Scored Against Spurs push notification that I turned on a while back. Technically it would also notify me of Spurs goals but, well

This war is as pure expression of the imperial spasm as you can possibly get. An outpouring of violence that has a sort of Platonic shadow of reasoning while there is very little substantive underneath.
I’ve seen a lot of pontificating on what this war is “about.” It’s about oil, no it’s the war on drugs, no it’s about imperialism and the Monroe doctrine. The true and most terrible answer is it’s about all of them and none of them, because the people in charge have no theory of what they’re doing.

The "Avatar" movies would work better if they had more iconic lines.
For example, when Jake Sully first shows up as Toruk Mahto, why not have Parker Selfridge say "They fly now?". Then Miles Quaritch could respond "They fly now.".
