I know I had just updated my teaser yesterday, but now I have a new one. I'll tweak details here and there for the hero image.

While Sprankle is adorable, he may have misled people to see my project is a kid's book. It's...Yeah, it's definitely not.

I have this book and find it an absolutely delightful resource! It’s got humor, trivia, genre, history—and insight into what it was about these horror films that made them such cultural classics.

There are also handy trigger warnings and lists of alternative books to read if you can’t watch!
the book HORROR FOR WEENIES: Everything You Need to Know About the Films You’re Too Scared to Watch by Emily C. Hughes

I agree with that last bit! Sometimes, the reality of violent acts is is scary enough to haunt the heart and mind.

Yay! 💜

Exactly! I need to put those timers on my phone when it comes to apps. I did remove FB that and helped a lot.

I use my phone for this one a lot.

Thanks! Yeah, it's definitely crazy since usually tinder things can be sketchy. Most people are just as surprised as we still are that tinder worked for us ha ha
spookyxpickle.bsky.social
FYI, my partner and I met on Tinder.

I didn't know how else to make an in person connection and really wanted to play Magic.

We met at our local library. He hadn't been to it yet and want me to show him my favorite books.

He also wanted me to feel safe in a public environment.
spookyxpickle.bsky.social
So many things. I could go on, honestly. I most likely wouldn't have met my partner. I wouldn't have met many of my wonderful friends. Wouldn't have learned so many different things about the world. And so, so much more

Social media has many curses. But it also has so many blessings.

Has anything great happened in your life because of social media?
spookyxpickle.bsky.social
Without social media, there's so much I also wouldn't have. While it has several evils, it has a lot of goods, too.

I'm glad I met you and so many other people via the socials!

#HorrorWritersChat My favorite ghosts are the tragic figures from both folklore and made up for stories. The ones that can't move on because they're longing for something that stops them from finding closure. The ones that pine, and yearn, and weep upon the crumbling stones of their own pasts.

Listen to the Symposium’s finest vocalist, as their tenor bends the living into unnatural angles and swivels them into the air! Tell us, what ghosts do you prefer? Of the folkloric tradition, or those invented by authors? And why?
#HorrorWritersChat
Question Three

Art by Jelle Husson, featuring a haunted monastery of many sharp-tipped towers scraping at the midnight sky. The largest is in the centre of the structure’s roof, whose walls are painted white. The monastery is located above a hilly terrain of dark stone and dark green moss. A stony, twisting road leads to the monastery.

It is always a delight to see our violinists perform! How the living bend their splintering bones as they float above us all! Tell us, our ghostly compatriots – which of us are better? Of the folkloric kind? Or invented by our shadowy creators?

I don't want to promote myself.
The founder of this chat and my co-host is in hospital, so he can't be here tonight, and huge thanks to Gree for stepping in at short notice.
But he writes such lovely ghost stories. Some of them are short, and cheap. If you could snag his books, it would help no end.

Concluding? Oh please! The Phantasmal Symposium’s work is eternal, as is the thirst for alive souls! We are simply twirling away elsewhere…

Now is your time to join us! What do you write? In what crypts can we peruse it? What more do you have to share?

The moment you entered the graveyard,
The scrape of ancient stone shadowed your ears,
Quick did rise your fears
As the screams of the undead
Fill you with dread

Run, run, jump, and run!

Will you outpace
These hungry fiends
Or will you find a new place
As one of the living dead
greethewriter.bsky.social
Come forth, Baron Crescendo! Let your guitar split the sky open, for more wraiths to dazzle us!

Behold, a note from him, for you!

“The moment you entered the graveyard, the scrape of ancient stone shadowed your ears.”

Finish it! With word of rhyme, before we dance to the end!

Question Four

There he is! Baron Crescendo! Oh how the skies split open to his guitar, how more of us fly in the air! And look, a note from him, just for you!

“The moment you entered the graveyard, the scrape of ancient stone shadowed your ears.”

Well? Go on! Word or rhyme, continue his Muse!

#HorrorWritersChat, that is quite a toughie.

Both?

Both.

I looooove folklore. I love the freaky things that have followed us through the generations.

And I love to see the freaky things that people come up with, whether if be new or inspired by something.
