Had surgery on my dominant hand today. Crocheted until the absolute last minute as I thought I'd be unable to crochet for a week or so as I heal.

Ended up crocheting as soon as I got home. Surgery site is still numb, so I decided to go for it while I could. We'll see how that plays out tomorrow.

Reminding myself that, even though one #communitycollege instructor is full of drama and making my life (and that of a student) a living @#$& with their absurdity & #ableism, most of them are good people who want their students to learn and grow.

We added #6 today. His name is Squid. Little guy appeared at a farm about 45 minutes away. They suspect he was dumped nearby. He needed a home, so here we are!

The newbies are adjusting. Interestingly, the one who all the fosters said was super shy and skittery has been out playing with the others while the supposedly super social one has been hiding and hissy.

Big sister is teaching little sister about hanging out on the stairs (sometimes literally).

I feel seen (and I don't like it).

The two newbies (#s 4 & 5) Cinder and Topaz. They're getting settled, adjusting to us, and adjusting to being around 3 other cats.

Meeps=cat #3. He's 16 1/2. My main coworker during Covid who regularly joined my virtual classes (made teaching high school literacy to a bunch of turned off cameras more fun).

Sleeps on top of me every night & has, sort of, adjusted to having cats #2 & 3 added. We'll see how he does with #4 & 5.

I guess I need to post cat #2 to make sure I'm not playing favorites.

This is Ember. She & Onyx are littermates. She is, literally, the softest cat I've ever petted.
