Tiktok cut it's own app off just so they could cut it back on and make Trump a hero but they didn't even wait until he was in office. This shit is dumb.

China's distracting everyone from the biggest scam in history where they made Trump $60B on shitcoin

Our laws are supposed to ban actions not people. (Corporations are people too). Why aren’t we outlawing the data collection? Because it’s too valuable to the politicians to have access to FB data. They wouldn’t dare outlaw the malicious action, they just don’t want THEM to do it.

The culture of democratic spaces is unwelcoming to anyone who is new to politics/underinformed/undecided. Until that changes, it will remain hard to win elections. More and more people are realizing they should pay attention to politics, and our spaces tend to attack them for not defaulting to D.

Huge win from @franzanth.bsky.social creating a Content Scraper Blocklist: bsky.app/profile/cont...

It's a blocklist for the kinds of engagement bait accounts that repost stolen content, often with misleading captions.

We closed today's show with these words, and they are worth reading again now and every time you need to remember why despair is not an option
Do not obey in advance means defending ideas as institutions until you lose that fight. I simply cannot tell this loud enough— the law, our Constitution, means what we say it means. Let the Supreme Court tell us we’re wrong. But until then, cede no ground to corrupted visions of law.

I think democrats need a messaging overhaul that focuses on class balance. I know we are for a strong middle class, but the reason we turn off a lot of rural white folks is because they do not see in themselves a message of white privilege. They feel oppressed and disenfranchised and not privileged.

I’ve decided to leave Scientific American after an exciting 4.5 years as editor in chief. I’m going to take some time to think about what comes next (and go birdwatching), but for now I’d like to share a very small sample of the work I’ve been so proud to support (thread)

Anyone you see on your timeline right now praising RFK Jr. is a person you never need to take seriously on anything ever again.

It is difficult to overstate just how extreme, conspiratorial, and insane RFK’s views are, on vaccines, microchips & beyond. He’s Alex Jones in a suit.

I tried this last year but nobody was here. Seems much more lively this year.

How do I find my way to the Bluesky version of #appellatetwitter though? I’ve got a hashtag tumbler and I’m ready to peruse legal shit.
