It's so incredible how low homicide rates are in Europe. The UK, with a population of 70 million people, had fewer than 600 murders in 2023.

Tragically I’m now like an animal raised in captivity that can’t be released into the wild…no longer able to fend for myself outside of the library environment…

the median UK salary is around about £35k these days, which is so often used to show the stagnation of wages and how shit the economy is, but unfortunately always just makes me think 'fuck me what couldn't I do with 35k a year'

my least favourite genre of information to read is "You may think that [insert job here] makes loads of money, but actually the average salary is only [insert amount that's at least double my annual wage] and most of them are just scraping by!!"

Or, OR, alternatively they could actually take a look at what is it that's actually being protested, and have a little think about why maybe protesters feel so strongly about it. it grinds my gears because although varicose veins are fairly common, everything says they’re usually caused by sitting too long/sedentary lifestyles and if there’s ONE THING about my shitty unhealthy lifestyle you cannot accuse me of, it’s being sedentary, I am moving literally non stop all day
