Nervous Musk, Trump, Vance have all been outclassed in public arguments these last few days. Government failure, stock market crash, and dictatorial alliances are not popular. People are starting to realize that there is no truth here beyond the desire for personal wealth and power. (2/2)

A new North Dakota bill would require stores to pull any book with any "material harmful to minors" from the shelves.

For those in the cheap seats, that effectively means ANY mention of sex, sexuality or gender.

A bookseller could be arrested for displaying 1984.

Port: It's not just about kids, and it's not just libraries
Legislation under consideration in Bismarck wouldn't just restrict access to books in schools and libraries. The language of the bill also applies to private book stores.

I don’t like that everyone is disseminating it. Data mules to the end.
I don’t like that the president is posting to his fake social media app that he isn’t breaking any laws if he “saves” America

Don’t care for it. Not the best

I wrote this song, "I Will Join You When I Can," a few years back, and I share it here in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. It began life as I thought about what Dr. King said to the audience in Memphis the night before he died, "I may not get there with you..."

We are about to enter an era of extreme and dangerous culture war in the United States. How do we protect our communities and work toward a cultural ceasefire? In this piece I wrote a couple months ago, I offer one possible path. wapo.st/40q1BDn
Opinion | Libraries can help end the culture wars. That’s why they’re under fire.
Nothing threatens authoritarianism like a free, quiet place to absorb a full range of information.

— Trump was *for* the TikTok ban
— which the GOP Congress passed
— and the GOP Supreme Court upheld
— and even though Biden said he wouldn't enforce the ban, TikTok shut down anyway
— so that Trump could "save" it
— and the media fell for it
we really do live in the dumbest fucking country
