Incredible seats to see Midori tonight at Sixth and I. We've seen her twice at Kennedy Center but this smaller venue is a real treat.

Game 7 is the first baseball game I've watched in a few years and I think it's enough. Good game though.

I've tried Wuthering Heights twice and never got on with it. Now I'm going to have to give it another go. Great episode!

This makes me want to move to the Twin Cities.
20th c cosyish British Fiction Fans in the Twin Cities: Anyone want to start a casual social group that cares about things like PERSEPHONE, the PENELOPES, PYM, DE STEVENSON, BROOKNER...etc? Was thinking of hosting an Xmas tea in early December...

I read The Brandons by Angela Thirkell and Casino Royale by Ian Fleming back to back and it was weirdly satisfying. It was my first Fleming (not my first Thirkell) and I'm looking forward to reading more.

Summer by Edith Wharton seems like a perfect book for this humid day. It's one I hadn't heard of so I'm looking forward to diving in.

Here's what I read in January. A Reckoning was a devastating read that I'll be thinking about for a long time. The Bright Sword was a fun Arthurian read and I'm always up for that. The Solnit and Arendt books are important for the times. A good month.

Fountain pen folks, I've had these two Waterman and one Aurora pens since the 90's (models in alt text but I'm doing it from memory so I could be wrong). All still write beautifully but I've been conservative in my inks and now want to try something new. How do these hold up to shimmering inks?
