While it’s nice Trump can respond to voters’ needs, he doesn’t deserve credit for unfucking something he fucked up in the first place.
President Donald Trump signed an executive order Friday to get rid of tariffs on a broad swath of commodities, including beef, coffee and tropical fruits. It’s part of a response to pressure from consumers who complain prices are too high.

This:
i think this is key. taking the deal would amount to taking the blame. it would turn a clear political victory into an unambiguous defeat.
If the Dems blink after all of this, for a deal that all but ensures no ACA subsidies in 2026 anyway, then what was the purpose of letting the shutdown go for 40 days in the first place?

I refuse to support a funding bill that fails to address the Republican health care crisis.

And make health insurance affordable.

The American people clearly understand the stakes and the urgency. We must too.

I'm voting no.

Sanders: Let’s be clear… If this vote succeeds, over 20 million Americans are going to see at least a doubling in their premiums… if resolution is passed tonight, we are on a path way to throw 15 million Americans off of medicaid and the affordable care act, 15 million.

If we are to deprive political violence of its power, we must reject anyone who commits or promotes it - and also reject any move to exploit it.

The horrific shooting today at Utah Valley University is reprehensible. Political violence has absolutely no place in our nation.

All Americans should pray for Charlie Kirk’s recovery and hold the entire UVU community in our hearts as they endure the trauma of this gun violence.

I am deeply disturbed by the shooting in Utah. Doug and I send our prayers to Charlie Kirk and his family.

Let me be clear: Political violence has no place in America. I condemn this act, and we all must work together to ensure this does not lead to more violence.

Our political leaders & media voices must choose. Either use this latest act of political violence to further divide & inflame the American people or de-escalate. Either be partisan or speak the truth that NEITHER side has a monopoly on political violence & ALL sides must stop engaging in violence.
