Today is a day when arts degrees are worthless, but the product of those degrees is so valuable it would kill an entire industry if they were made to pay for it.

I have found the media literacy in self-governing focused-topic niche communities (Reddit is another)to be very high, effective and fascinating to observe.

Let's be clear a what's happening here: the "censorship" and "bias" narrative is being extended to Wikipedia bc the far right knows that getting bullshit into LLMs is how to shape reality as "answer engines" replace search engines.

Wikipedia is core to that fight so the grievance blitz is here.

Yes! Comments in footnotes.
And may I add: Please, @microsoft.com, please make Word stop changing fonts and sizes just because I’m starting a new ¶.

The best assignment I ever had was 10 days following #JaneGoodall around Gombe, Burundi, and her 80th birthday party in San Francisco. She was a one of a kind scientist, teacher, leader, and activist. RIP

When you think of Kansas, you probably don't think of mountains — or mountain lions. But in recent years, the number of sightings of mountain lions in the state has skyrocketed. In the past two years, there have been 117 sightings of the big cats in the state.
Mountain lions are returning to Kansas. Here's how to tell if one has passed through your area

I'm challenging the narrative that "A.I." is a multiplier in the hands of experts. I see it being repeated everywhere, but there's no credible evidence.

If anything, an expert sees more problems in the output and spends more time fixing them. "It would have been quicker to write it myself".

Asking “is today The Rapture” is the wrong question for logistical purposes. First you need to ask: what number system are we using Base 10 or 12; which calendar: Gregorian, Hebrew, Chinese… and then also what time zone? All important to know.
