This week has been mostly Rob Reiner (either new to me or rewatches), and a documentary about the most infamous film George Romero never made.

IMO, the original Spinal Tap and the new Spinal Tap make a GREAT double feature.

This week was three new releases (all of which are on my favorites of 2025 list) and one of my favorite films of all time in the best way you can watch it - all together and on a big screen.

You know it’s a dystopia when Netflix can acquire Warner Bros, likely doing massive harm to cinema as an art form, and your first reaction is “shit at least David Ellison didn’t get his oddly damp hands on Bugs Bunny”

We went from “it’s certainly getting colder” to “I’ll be there if the weather holds up” season a LOT quicker this year…

Last four - November's 1702 Film Crew picks Catch Me If You Can and Midnight Run, and two filmmaking documentaries, Megadoc (which I felt was lacking in direction), and Aliens Expanded, which is the most complete document of a film I've ever seen.

The Running Man, Jennifer Lawrence Under The Influence, and finding a little bit of solace and inspiration in Kubrick's story.

Dear @letterboxd.social - I think a nice feature for Pro and Patron would be the ability to have more control over what is public when you log a movie. For instance, the option to hide star ratings from people you are not mutuals with.

Horror, and Ben Stiller's new doc about his parents (which I really enjoyed).

Dracula (1979) was a surprise. Really dug that. Re-Animator was goofy, gory fun. And, of course, Aliens, which is a comfort movie for me.

Not pictured - Black Phone 2, which I saw earlier in the week and really liked.

I'm super excited about seeing a 4K restoration of this, it's one of my favorite film related documentaries about one of my all time favorite films, but why does Coppola look like he's sniffing his arm pit?

One Cut of the Dead REALLY ives up to its reputation as a fun film. Exorcist II REALLY lives up to its reputation as NOT a good film 😆.

As Slow Horses S5 has been unspooling week by week, I've been taking some time to rewatch the seasons (there are only 6 episodes per, so it's pretty easy). They hold up INCREDIBLY well on the rewatch. I think S3 is my favorite season, as a whole. It just does everything SH does in the best ways.

This week was Marvel's Zombies (which I really enjoyed. Honestly enjoying their animated stuff more than the live action streaming stuff), and Septembers 1702 Film Crew selections (The Prestige and All That Jazz).

Two early Redford films, I finally watched Speed Racer, and One Battle After Another is a masterpiece. I'm not in the "His best film ever" camp, but it's definitely another masterpiece.

Really enjoyed Alien: Earth, though it feels like it was an episode or two too short. I realize the idea is probably to save some for the next season, but it just feels unfinished.

A lot of people putting up their favorite Redford films today, and while I wouldn't say this is my favorite, I do think it's a criminally under seen entry in his filmography. Probably works better on the big screen than the small, but I remember being enthralled by this in the theater.

This week was August's 1702 Film Crew picks (Sneakers and Who Am I), that new Netflix Devo doc, and Relay, which was a little bit of a let down.
