🆕🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 A brown beer in the Belgian style with the trademark fruity Abbey Ale flavour profile and fortified with organic Deglet Noor dates.

Rich and complex aromas of dried fruit and banana mingle with delicate nutty and spice notes in a beer that’s soft, smooth and deliciously easy drinking.

It’s been a huge pleasure to have Jim ISBF here for a brew today. A few handfuls of spruce tips, juniper, some choc rye, a load of floor malted Pilsner and nae hops. Should be just the job on a rainy November night in Salford @salfordbeerfest.bsky.social

A timely read as we’re about to release our 2.9% Table Beer, which we brew with Euro/noble hops as well as US varieties. We do this for flavour and because the resulting complexity helps a lower ABV beer punch above its weight.

Next Thursday - 4th September - you’ll find us and a whole load of our tasty beers at the wonderful Crown Posada in Newcastle.

If you’ve been before, you’ll know what an awesome pub this is. If you haven’t, come and find out!

Loads of cask, loads of keg. Side helpings of chat.

Cheers!

Saddened by the news of Sir Geoff Palmer's passing. The one guest lecture he gave during my time at Heriot Watt was outstanding; packed with anecdotes, energy and charisma off the scale. And brewing/distilling was just one element of his life! A truly unique man and a great loss, RIP.

Those talented Gan Yam folks are as good with words as they are with beer, so check out this write up on the delicious nettle sour we brewed recently, then buy some and try it!

Just don’t expect to find out what nettles taste like 😅

What's Brewing: Heavy Nettle
We take our brewers Jonny and Greg aside to look under the bonnet of one of our many beers. We’ll kick it off with a bit of technical detail, and then move into the emotional realm...

As someone with tinnitus myself and dad to a son with hearing loss, it’s great to see a bit of chat around this. Dave from Ride Brewing was an advocate for better provision in Glasgow, but he’s now living on Gigha where it’s no doubt less of an issue 🏝️

Let’s hope so! It’ll be interesting to see how this goes over the next few weeks, especially for the smallest breweries without existing pubco relationships.

I have, I meant more general chat. I guess I just see less chat about things like this since Twitter died!
