Here begins my @toronto-fringe.bsky.social '25 thread! Hopefully as the fest continues, all the #TheaTO & #ComedyTO folx I know on Meta & X will have figured out BSky's the only SM platform that 1. easily shares links & news, & 2. isn't overrun by toxicity. So yes, here (only here!) we go! #FringeTO

6. ADAM BAILEY: MY THREE DEATHS. A.Bailey emphasizes early onstage that this tale of his near-death experiences is storytelling, not comedy, but he nonetheless gets some of his biggest laughs from his solo shows to date IMO, due to the jokes' juxtapositions b/w loss & recovery, grief & celebration.

Suppose countries went back to requiring corporations to serve the public interest?

Suppose countries went back to limiting the size of corporations, in order to preserve competition and enable smaller businesses to thrive?

(Why would a functioning democracy allow anything else?)

When the TTC is running behind on line 1 & 2, instead of sending out red vested direction givers, they need to send out emergency barristas.

Our coworkers don't deserve trainloads of uncaffinated folks being dumped on them.

No, 150-Year-Olds Aren’t Collecting Social Security Benefits

I'm finding more Canadian (and Mexican) content on Netflix, and Prime, than Canadian channels like CTV or Global. Apple and Disney are abysmal. Crave (also Canadian run) is good. CBC GEM is good, of course, but also carries US content without signifiers.

Auschwitz was at the end of a long process. It did not start from gas chambers.

This hatred was gradually developed by humans. From ideas, words, stereotypes & prejudice through legal exclusion, dehumanization & escalating violence... to systematic and industrial murder.

Auschwitz took time.

Everyone got SO MAD when I started singing Gravity during the movie! Like I’m sorry but I PAID to be here. It’s not my fault Wicked was sold out and I had to see Gladiator II.
