Please please PLEASE read this story, and not just because I wrote it (though I *do* think it's good). The narration is A+, and I couldn't have asked for a better home for this story!

Read @soleilho.com's interview with Gina Cargas, a librarian at SFUSD who is collecting vinyl records to create a 'listening station' for her middle school students.

"Libraries have shifted a lot in the last 10 years...It's not a silent space. Which I think is, in many ways, for the best."

Gina Cargas reached out to the community about collecting records for her middle school students. The response was overwhelming.

More obsessions, more cringe. Writing about what you care about. So what if your story is niche, impractical, unhinged, a bit messy—w/e, someone will love it. You don't need the approval of the void, just the love of the art.

The best Christmas gift you could give yourself this year is taking a little time to relax and read RIGSBY WI, my long form webcomic about disaffected teens living in northern wi in the early 2000s! It’s been nominated for awards and all 600+ pages are TOTALLY FREE to read!!!

(I read the ‘Rakesfall’ audiobook from a Bluesky recommendation and it is a sumptuous, poetic work. Highly recommended!)

I don't know how this would work but I wish these reading / book-tracking sites / apps would make a way to count audio fiction. I'm not talking about audio *books* I mean either dramas (eg: Twelvelms, Shelterwood) or magazines like Cast of Wonders you typically listen to.

Children leave their shoes out for him in the window. He gives the good ones a small gift or a treat. The bad ones get a potato.
