Imagine a 1970s Alan Partridge on a mind bending trip through long lost London, so breakneck & fragmentary, full of incredible characters & handbrake turns that it feels like a dream where the cast & context keeps mutating & it still won’t be as wild as the actuality of this

Ladies and gentlepuffins we are floating in space.
One small step for puffin, one giant leap for puffinkind, with more Jill McDonald joy for my Sputnik Sweethearts.
Colourful cartoon cover of a 1968 Puffin Post magazine, in which a pink space rocket emits fierce fiery jets of flame from three booster rockets which are powering it.
The rocket is patterned in black flowers and orange pink and yellow zigzags speeds through a black starry sky with a big shiny sliver satellite spinning through space.
The rocket is crewed by three puffins in yellow space suits sitting at porthole windows and three on space walks outside tethered to the rocket by squiggly blue cables.
Above it, another rocket, this one striped red and yellow zooms across bearing the title Puffin Post in white, hand drawn capital letters outlined in black.
The style of the illustration is very much 1960s psychedelia for primary children and it gives a real sense of an unfolding scene in motion

Anyone else remember that guy who made a career of ringing up Radio 4 current affairs prog phone-ins (especially Women's Hour) back in the 90s to make some rw complaint, every now and then pretending to be a member of a minority? (This isn't him, obvs, it just reminded me)

Guys, every person you see on Fox News in a mask is just Robert O'Neill, retired Navy Seal and occasional Fox News contributor. He's the former Antifa, former Gazan, former gang member. His eyes are very unique.

Well I know what it is (for me anyway), it's "strong lines on creamy background". See also Giacometti's paintings, which caused my head to explode when I first came across some in an encyclopedia of art as a teen back in caveman times
'Annette', a painting by Alberto Giacometti. Portrait of a woman, sat straight up facing the viewer, arms crossed over and resting on her lap. Strong dark lines on a background of creamy greys, predominantly blue

The sleeve for 'Propaganda' is pretty great as well ("concept and photography Monty Coles")
Front cover of the Sparks LP 'Propaganda'. The Mael bros are in the back of a speedboat or small motorboat, clearly travelling very fast. Both are bound and gagged and looking at you the viewer with evident concern Back cover. The Mael bros still bound and gagged, this time looking very alarmed at you through the rear window of a big old car parked up in one of the bays of a petrol station or garage. An attendant is checking under the hood while three guys (presumably the rest of the band) hang around

Ha, same here! Google lens wasn't much help - declared with absolute certainty it was a specific robot off Robot Wars, or part of the cupola from Renfrew town hall lol
