This got some airplay as well, most likely on Radio 1 I think? Certainly remember the chorus though of course it wasn’t a hit and I’ve now realised that it’s the same Exile who had a hit with Kiss You All Over.

If Celebrity The Traitors was made in 1978 it would involve Frank Muir, Roy Kinnear and Angharad Rees in boiler suits sitting round a big beige hexagonal table in TC7, and would be all over in 27 minutes.

Today on the BBC Archive youtubes, I have mostly been watching THE GHOST HUNTERS from 1975.

Strange goings on, indeed. Benson Herbert is a one.

Imagine a 1970s Alan Partridge on a mind bending trip through long lost London, so breakneck & fragmentary, full of incredible characters & handbrake turns that it feels like a dream where the cast & context keeps mutating & it still won’t be as wild as the actuality of this

K9 GETS THE BOOT
#DoctorWho's mechanical mongrel K9 is getting the boot from TV chiefs because he is too bright.
"He makes it too easy for the doctor to get out of situations," says producer John Nathan-Turner.

Whatever you think of RTD, he knows television and knows the warning flares need to be sent up. Television and journalism need to start questioning and pushing back. Pushing back hard.

From what I’ve heard, Carlton would have tried to take over TVS/Meridian or other ITV franchise(s) if it had failed with its London bid. The eventual outcome would have been roughly similar even if Thames somehow remained as a production brand. Not seen Matthew’s video yet but will do so sometime.
