One thing I noticed on a recent rewatch is how Sally laughs more as the film progresses. And not in a way that's humouring Harry, or "you look better when you smile" kind of way. She genuinely finds his jokes increasingly funny the more she falls in love with him.
So there’s a whole generation that’s never seen When Harry Met Sally and it seems that everybody is going to watch it now— may the Reiners’ memories be for a blessing— and I am fascinated to see how they experience it. I have no perspective.
