If anything, I feel MORE let down by Bluesky dropping the ball on this, because at first it felt SO GOOD. Twitter is a shitshow, but it’s not trying to be anything else.

The fact that the team can't simply say "We know we fucked up, we know that antiblackness led to this fuckup, we are going to sit down with some of the Black users here, come up with a public and transparent game plan to address the harms and reduce risks going forward..." is WILD to me. I mean not that I was really wanting to download another Meta app, but this is a pretty good roundup of all the data Threads collects, and the fact that you can’t delete Threads without deleting Instagram.

Minnie Bruce Pratt died today. As a queer Alabamian, I will never forget how she (and Leslie…dear Lord, Leslie) changed my life in such brief conversations. They forever affirmed how I saw my existence and made me feel like it was ok to be exactly who I was…even from Alabama.
