Disappointing yourself by proxy.

Bipolar, atheist, software engineer, introvert, generally kinda lost, he/him

Not to brag, but cats tend to like me.
No change in stance from me.

Maybe I oversold it with "mix." Ended up going with just knock-off Baileys on the rocks.

In my defense, it's still just 9-ish in this timezone.
January 11, 2026 at 4:16 PM
Nope, and if it helps I'll mix something for myself in solidarity.

Not to mention giving you one other bill to pay.

The whole structure is trash.

Article doesn't say they kicked the gov't ads off the platform. In fact, it kinda sounds like the gov't simply ended that ad campaign as planned because Spotify was happy to accept their money and not intervene.

There's nothing to reward them for doing here.

They're a 10 but they're (a 10)?

This isn't parsing. 🤔

NB: Shout out to independent journos who manage to challenge this admin every damned day despite *not* having access.

has a domain they can print those lies on themselves. You don't bring a single fucking scrap of value to the table by reprinting them verbatim with no assessment of their validity.

I encourage everyone to join me. Make them fix their newsrooms or go broke.
January 8, 2026 at 10:08 PM
Sorry if you're not a decision maker at one of these orgs and you feel called out, but I *fully fucking decline* to contribute to the bottom line of any news org that can't manage basic journalistic integrity.

What even is the point of an org that just reprints lies they're told? The white house /

I am nothing if not stubborn and awkward... it's in the bag. 🤐😤
January 7, 2026 at 3:51 PM
Okay, but I am actually in such a stalemate, and consigned to not breaking it (aka losing).
January 7, 2026 at 7:27 AM
Wait, it was supposed to be set in (not LA)? I'll be honest, it never entered my mind that it was (not LA) even once.

That marketing IMO means that the companies are voluntarily adopting the LLM output as their own speech, regardless of the LLM's actual technical capability.
January 5, 2026 at 6:55 PM
They're specifically sold as tools that synthesize information to produce informative results.

IMO it shouldn't really matter that they aren't actually capable of that. The companies marketing them claim them as such, and lead consumers to treat their output *as* speech.

I'm not sure "the market segment would cease to be viable due to legal risk over harmful output" really goes in the cons column here. This is a very narrowly defined subsegment of posts, not a broad attack on things protected by 230.

TBF I'm a programmer so it feels far more pain from the garbage code I write anyway. My trash posts are small potatoes to that.

i'm still not sure which part of generating yaml or copy pasting example code from github at speed requires ddosing the internet, or extended roleplay sessions with a markov chain, or tacitly ignoring the deaths of vulnerable teenagers, but as ever, i guess i am simply too european for this
