Zen found a box that took his fancy in the recycling pile and proceeded to bring it into the lounge to destroy it. (He carried it on his head. He crashed banged into everything. I was too busy laughing to film it 🤣.

If Winston truly believes Chlöe is responsible for his broken window then logically it follows that he must be accepting personal responsibility for every single death threat made to Benjamin Doyle and their whanau.

I'm as sick of saying it as you probably are of saying it but IF YOU'RE NOT A PROFESSIONAL THIEF, ANY INDUSTRY THAT CAN'T SURVIVE WITHOUT STEALING OTHER PEOPLE'S GOODS AND SERVICES DESERVES TO DIE.

It's that time again, a #nzpol 🧵
What starts online doesn’t stay online.
The 2025 local elections have become the most toxic in memory, w candidates (esp women) harassed & forced to campaign from home. This is what happens when we treat online abuse as “just words”

‘Scares the pants off me’: Toxicity surges in local elections
This year’s council elections are turning into the nastiest in memory, with a growing fear that online abuse could spill over into real-world violence.

to all the Labour mps on here can you tell your leader we need a commitment to reverse the Jobseekers policy that National has just introduced. Thats not giving your policy away that is exercising basic humanity and getting rid of very poorly formulated policy. Just say it. Come on.

When the PM says ‘we don’t owe them a living’, we should be clear that this is not a metaphor.

A living is life. And I want to live in a society in which it is clear that this is the least we owe each other, and are owed. 💞

I’d like us to aim for lives lived in dignity and with joy, personally 🤷‍♀️

Fucksake. It's quite clear now that they only looked at this benefit policy as political marketing and took no advice on who it would impact – which includes young people with serious health issues and disabilities. Just feckless and cynical. Shame on them. www.rnz.co.nz/news/politic...
Hundreds of teens with a health condition, disability may be cut from Jobseeker benefit
The government is ending Jobseeker payments to 18- and 19 year olds whose parents earn more than $65,000.

Just for clarity, the unemployment numbers under this government may look terrible, but keep in mind, Luxon has driven tens of thousands of Kiwis overseas as well, so its actually far worse. These numbers are just the ones that couldnt leave.

I'm so hung up on Christopher Luxon saying "oh well the government has advised people not to go to Gaza for many years" as though Rana, Youssef and Samuel were on an ill-advised ski trip and not, you know, deliberately engaged in humanitarian efforts to deliver aid to victims of genocide

*holding the privileged to account via peaceful protest =/= harm. Finding it hard to have sympathy for genocide deniers tbh.

I actually agree that MPs should feel safe in their homes*. Benjamin should feel safe in their home. They should feel like their child is safe. Hana should feel safe in her home. Winston *directly caused* AND downplayed the harm those two people faced. It's the hypocrisy for me.

Downplaying an act of violence might have been the appropriate response from him, and might not be the appropriate in our current moment - I don't know - but the complete refusal to make political hay out of it is night and day from the current Government.

Then Green Party co-leader James Shaw was attacked while walking to work. He suffered a fractured eye ball and black eye, but said he still felt safe.

That's what de-escalation and kindness looks like #nzpol
