I've thought this through and I am going to re-find this at Trimley Marshes tomorrow morning.

I've let you all know - so don't be suprised.

When we found the Dusky Warbler on Shetland last week it was having a tack-athon with two blythi Lesser Whitethroats in the same trees, here is a recording of one of them... #birdingscotland

Lapland Bunting, Dunwich yesterday. A scarce migrant through Suffolk (rarely over winters), Lapland Bunting numbers have varied from 6-21 (av. 11) in the county over the past 10 years and is now hard to connect with, so it was nice to find this #ukbirding #suffolkbirding

Birds in stained glass, freestanding #art or wall sculptures, rarely window panels. My birds are celebrations, explanations, rants and sometimes tears; but like the birds that inspire them, they are all beautiful dancers-with-light…

A superb day, mostly at Dunwich, with @noahbai-123.bsky.social and other friends. Highlight was the super adult male Red-tailed Shrike, my 400th world bird species! Great supporting cast of Glossy Ibises, Yellow-browed and Dartford Warblers, Crossbill and a late Whinchat! #ukbirding #suffolkbirding

‘Turkestan Shrike, adult male’

acrylic, 13 x 18 cms.

Turkestan Shrike, also known as Red-tailed Shrike, is a very rare visitor from Central Asia to the UK. Along with the closely related Daurian Shrike it was once considered one of the sub-species of Isabelline Shrike.

Went to see the Turkestan Shrike at Dunwich Heath, Suffolk yesterday. Waited nearly three hours before it left a small copse with thick shrub onto the heathland by the cliff. The wind, rain and poor light made taking pictures tricky. Happy to get a life ✅️

A Clay-coloured in our Cape Sable Island yard this morning, a scare bird in NS, doesn't breed here. Scilly birders, make sure you check all those Chipping Sparrows carefully, oh, wait! #Birds #Birding #Birdwatching.

Ah, it finally got out in the open. Was least shrike-like shrike ever just skulking 🤣
suffolkseawatcher.bsky.social
Went up Dunwich at lunchtime. Not entirely sure the shrike is actually still there today?

Anyone actually got photos/ seen the bird in the open? @birdguides.bsky.social
