Loneliness is a weird feeling. I don’t think I’m going to wax poetic in a way that hasn’t been written before but I will say that it is an oddly quiet feeling, like when you’re underwater and not breathing.

This year has been heartbreaking, tiring, scary and something else.
I have less people than before, less confidence than before, less happiness than before.

I get so excited for Christmas. But then I just had a lunch with my grandma and my great uncle and my lord, they truly said the words “you can’t say anything anymore” when talking and I’ve never finished a glass of wine quicker.

Words feel empty when I think of Bondi. But someone just said that this is the time to go donate blood, to make sure those affected are supported so I‘m going to do that.

Also would like to note that the Australian Center at UoM is also being shut down, with budget being cited as the reason.

It’s ludicrous and insulting to suggest that the richest university in Australia can’t afford the two part-time wages to run Meanjin.
Also: did they even try to save it? Donation drive? Philanthropic efforts? Offering it to another institution?
