Also me: I should go to the shelter and walk some dogs.
I took care of shelter dogs for six hours yesterday. Someone said "you've been here 6 hrs?!" Uh is that not normal? There's a lot to do. Also we sent roughly 30 dogs home.

All of the horses have blankets that we put on them in the winter, but Von (left) doesn't always need one when the other horses do. Why? Because she is an Icelandic horse! They evolved with thicker, warmer coats than many other breeds to thrive in the harsh Icelandic winters.

Check out the wingspan on Walter! He was found wandering loose as a piglet by a couple in Middlebury, VT. They loved him and wanted to keep him, but he just kept getting bigger and BIGGER until it was clear he needed a home better equipped for a pig his size. 🧵

There aren’t a lot of safe options for rehoming a big friendly pig like Walter. You can’t just post them “to a good home” on Craigslist or they will be killed for meat. That’s why sanctuary is so important! His former owners can feel confident he will be safe and loved here - for life.
