I'm a local TV news producer and I do my best to cover the local impact of things like NIH cuts, Head Start cuts, the DOGE layoffs, etc. but I have been begging since January for people to talk to us, with anonymous protection, and esp. w/ hospitals, universities, NO ONE will talk out of fear.

This is the letter that was sent to @newsguy.bsky.social today, informing him that he was being placed on an extended "absence" pending an HR investigation. And here is the tweet by Ric Grenell, accusing Herman of treason, that apparently triggered this.

When these people talk about free markets and personal liberties that is for them, not for the mom and pop sandwich shop in your town.
