This is my take, as well.
It sounds like she wants to tell. She managed to stir the waters in a very passive aggressive manner via the interview.
So, for her, it's like her childhood with her alcoholic father. You learn that it's not safe to confront in that environment. So you "go around".

I have always been a fan and carried high respect for the writings and thoughts put forward by atheist Bruce Gerenscer. Bruce is one of the nicest and most sincere guys around and I value him as a person. It is very sad folks would act like this toward him.
