Liked this. Our resilience, our tenacity, the strength of America is in all of us and our work.
We all must vote and get others to vote. We all must protest and get others to protest. We all must donate as we can and get others to donate. We all must!
If people show up in big numbers in 2026 in 2028, we will. If they let doomers talk them into thinking that everything is lost, then we won’t.
You talk like we will have free and fair elections in 2028.

Every part of this is bonkers. The intro is bonkers. The transition to his health is bonkers. The mention that other presidents didn't need cognitive exams is bonkers. The claim that this screening test is somehow hard is bonkers. The idea that criticism of him is treason is bonkers. All of it.

When a President calls for the death of lawmakers protecting the oath military members take to the Constitution (NOT the President), you are watching a full-blown Constitutional Crisis. This is the ultimate test of our democracy. We cannot look away.

The President just announced he is giving $20 billion of taxpayer money to bail out Argentina. That’s outrageous. If he was willing to spend that money in America - to keep American health premiums from skyrocketing, the shutdown would be over tomorrow.

I don't understand how anyone can make the case that we still have constitutional government at this point. The president is collecting revenue *AND* spending money without Congressional authorization, refusing to spend money that Congress appropriated, disobeying whatever laws he feels like.

We protect historical buildings like barns in my town. Trump is taking a wrecking ball to the people's house. What's to stop him from tearing the whole house down?
Whatever you think of the White House as a building or a symbol, the fact is that the image of it being torn apart on a whim two days after 7 million people hit the streets against autocracy is going to make a HUGE amount of people really, really angry, and that's an energy that should be harnessed.

I had these same thoughts today and it turned my stomach at which way this might go.
This is potentially a massive story. Did DOJ plan for survivors? Do they have sufficient evidence to prosecute? What is US jurisdiction to prosecute? Where will they go next? When is their court date? Will they be indicted? Held at Gitmo? Returned to Venezuela? Be Epsteined?

In HS my father made me change my registration to republican, he was afraid I would end up on a list. McCarthyism was his experience. It's always been here. The unfinished revolution @theatlantic.com
