Gabriel Jesus sauntered off the substitutes’ bench and straight back into the hearts of the Arsenal fans.

To see him back on the pitch — smiling, combining, flitting into the channels and dropping into midfield — was a joy.

I keep wheeling this up, and I don't care. It really is poetry in motion. 🔁🥲

Side note: The Merino cele is top tier. That player is a serious problem. 😮‍💨

Ben White has had to be patient this season – his appearance against Brentford was his first in the Premier League since Manchester United on the opening weekend.

As Arsenal's injuries mount up, it was the perfect time to remind everyone of just how valuable a player he is.

A solid half from Arsenal all in all, lovely to see Ben White doing Ben White things again, and Mikel 'El Goleador' Merino with a great header for 1-0.

Raya's save was fantastic, but we haven't made the most of our corners so far.

Mosquera injury just so frustrating – when will it stop?

Liverpool were really poor today.

Why isn't there any real scrutiny as to why you have a £120m striker on the bench and you don't bring him on?

Good second half from Arsenal.

Two lovely open play goals ("should backheels be allowed?!!). MLS assist for Ethan is lovely, but a great flick from Merino in the build-up.

Saka off the bench to score. Youngsters did well. Another clean sheet.

Solid night's work.

Turns out there might just be more to them than set pieces bolted onto grisly shut-outs.
