Until this post I thought they were just the same person and I was amazed at how he could just completly change between roles.

Back when I worked at BK in the late 2000's, we'd just give our used oil to the one guy in town who'd converted his car to run on it. I wonder when exactly the free fuel for dedicated hippies pipeline dried up and became a commodity.

Kids shouldn’t be watching influencers or lets plays or AI brainrot. YouTube in general really. They should be watching cartoons with plots and themes, made by guys who fled the collapse of the USSR and full of jokes they won’t get until they’re older. Also random black and white movies on vhs.

and we saw a lot of chipmunks and my youngest talked about how the fairies would tame chipmunks and ride them into battle and my oldest said "what if... they tamed a bear?? And rode IT into battle!!!" and I just imagined a fairy sitting on a bear's head in a palanquin driving it like a mech

This is also my main takeaway whenever someone does shit like that Civil War movie and divides states evenly. My CA hometown relies entirely in Reno as the local metropolis: where the helicopter flies you when the local hospital can't handle it. If the Union falls, they go with whoever has Reno.
And even if you do go along with it, the actual cultural map of BBQ styles wouldn't fit cleanly onto state lines like this. Large swaths of CA away from the cities that are more culturally connected to NV/AZ than they are to the media-idea of California.
