Oh here’s one that I think is way undersung: finding a political moral in a movie doesn’t mean you’ve solved the movie and got an A+ and can now stop thinking about it. The same story can have all sorts of morals, even contradictory ones. Shifting perspective is the entire point of fiction.
I'll do one! A thing that signals film illiteracy: knowing just enough about movies to basic rhen patterns, then assuming a film is bad because ~you~ can spot the seams, they'll always be there if you look for them, and most people don't. You figuring out where they're headed doesn't mean anything.
If there's one thing that signals film illiteracy from someone online, it's when they deride humor used in another genre as being "a Marvel-like quip."
Go watch DIE HARD. "No shit, lady! Do you think I'm ordering a pizza?!" is the exact same kind of line that now gets called "quippy"

In the age of AI and algorithms I see curation becoming a more popular approach to film. It's what criteron does, it's what MUBI does and now Letterboxd does it. I think it's cool and I bet in a few years your going to see curated lists on netflix trying to copy them.

You can tell the people who make these things arent artists by the way they are made. If you make one that's slightly lit too brightly you have to retype an entire promp and get a whole new thing instead of just tweaking one thing. It's not about having an idea and then creating it-
