Big picture, it's all about the environment and overshoot -- and their progeny, climate change, the most immediate problem. Locally for me, it's about family, cats, plants, and bugs.

*Someone introduce articles of impeachment
*Dem officeholders go to USAID offices with USAID workers

I always thought Elon Musk was the most dangerous man in America but I viewed him as a danger primarily in terms of his wealth and his disinformation power. I didn't realize he would pose an actual threat to our form of government, our national security, and our most sensitive personal data.
Sheesh.

In case you had any doubt, the near perfect fit of the quadratic trendline makes it clear: global sea surface temperatures are accelerating.

The current rate of warming is about 0.32°C/decade, which comes out to somewhere around 275 million Hiroshima bombs worth of ocean heating in 2025.

The monthly methane number just came out from NOAA for September, 2024, at 1936.64ppb.

The bad news is that the annualized rate of methane growth is once again increasing. It's not just that methane is increasing, but the rate of increase is once again increasing too!

Here is the 36-month running mean for CO2 growth.

1) Compute the running mean level of atmospheric CO2 over 36-months.

2) For any given date's 36-month running mean of CO2, subtract the running mean from 36 months earlier and plot that point.

3) Freak out that CO2 growth is increasing again!

There's very little reason to assume 30-year linear warming extrapolation.

Emissions, forcings, Earth's Energy Imbalance and (especially variability corrected) temperature observations all indicate acceleration of global warming.

We should prepare for reaching +2.0°C soon!
