it does contain a lot of 20-sided disasters so arguably yes

It's a good entry point if you like that sort of thing!

I fear Critical Role Campaign 4 is going to be my entire personality.

As a frequent user of the ponds, it disgusts me that terfs are taking a beautiful place and pouring their hate into it. Please fill in this survey if you want to protect this space for all women and make trans women feel. PS the ducks think terfs suck. And the friendly fox. And the crows.

The Gender Critical have already inundated this survey with their disgusting views on banning trans people from using the ponds.

Would be a shame if we inundated with trans positive views on not banning trans people.

for those who don't know, these are outdoor swimming venues, very famous and lovely, and they have men/women only ponds. the kenwood ladies pond is inclusive and a brilliant spot. I fear TERFs are going to overrun the consultation and ruin another good thing in this city

anyone london based - there's a consultation on whether trans women and men will continue to be able to access the hampstead ladies and men's ponds, or if they should be forced to use the one for their 'biological sex'. please respond, it's quick. hampstead-heath-bathing-ponds.commonplace.is

As an immigrant to the UK, I was grateful for years to have arrived during the last Labour government, before the Tories imposed such cruel restrictions on immigration. Now, listening to the current Labour government's even crueller plans...
I hate how anti-immigrant mainstream discourse has become.

good time to call your democratic reps and describe to them what having a spine might look like
If passed, the law would prohibit trans surgeries, strip [health insurance] Medicaid coverage from transgender people and ban Pride flags from public buildings, such as schools and universities.

That said, the next four books I've mentally planned (not necessarily sold) are deeply exciting to me, so there's that.

I've been thinking a lot lately about writing as joy and art - the things I want to write - and writing as the thing that pays my bills. I hope I can always align those two things, but I do wonder. I wonder.

my small flex is I have the entire stephanie brown batgirl run in print. those were the days, etc.

having seen my cat contribute to decimating the spider population.... you don't want them to contribute, they're sadists

but honestly every adaptation, barring andrea arnold's (which I also.... did not enjoy...) ignores those dual aspects.

the aesthetics and the horniness of the film trailer are entirely on point, it's the likely handling of race and class - the erasure of them as points of anxiety, ugliness and desire in the orignal text - strikes me as a bigger issue
tashasuri.bsky.social
the icky ick taboo meets desire of it all - the implication of incest, the weird entanglement over multiple generations, the tension around desire across race and class lines - is the POINT
tashasuri.bsky.social
the book is DEEPLY horny, it's full of rage and unconsummated desire and gothic tabboo
tashasuri.bsky.social
people saying the wuthering heights trailer is bad because it's horny and the book is not: did we read the same book?

On this and all social media platforms, all artists NEED to support NSFW art. If your ace (like me) or don't like porn it doesn't matter. The freedom to draw nudity and sexually explicit work for adults shouldn't be demonized because some people find it offensive or refuse to parent their kids.

I hope you had a wonderful time!!

The employee asked the girl and her mother if they needed help shopping. That’s it. That’s all. The misinformation, the insinuations (because the facts are inconveniently benign) are EXACTLY what was done to lesbians in the 80s. This is the product of hate and fear, not reality.
JK Rowling tweeting got a boycott of M&S, stretching facts to the breaking point, and making the world a worse place for absolutely everyone.
