Masked officers descended on courthouses across the country this week and arrested stunned immigrants showing up for scheduled immigration hearings as part of a new directive from federal officials aimed at dramatically accelerating deportations.
Immigrant arrests at courthouses signal new tactic in Trump’s deportation push
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers have been instructed to arrest people immediately after a judge has ordered them to be deported or after prosecutors move to drop their case.

Another large law firm capitulates. Absolutely shameful. These firms are helping Trump destroy the rule of law and democracy.

If Willkie Farr & Gallagher won't defend itself, why on earth would any client trust it to defend the client?

More than 60 major moves that President Trump and his administration have made in his first 23 days, including executive orders and agency memos, have aligned with proposals in the Project 2025 blueprint, according to a New York Times analysis.
How Trump’s Directives Echo Project 2025
President Trump attempted during his campaign to distance himself from the right-wing blueprint to overhaul the federal government, but many of his administration’s actions so far have mirrored it.

The biggest takeaway that I receive from The Day of the Jackal adaptation is that all institutions are corruptible whose only function is to indirectly destroy the individual, and I’m not sure it’s an invalid assessment.

“Don’t feed the trolls” also extends to bad opinion pieces in papers of record.

They run them bc people react to them the most.

If we stop linking to bad columns and instead post thinkers we find valuable (& generate convo around it), incentives change.

It’s not easy and takes constant practice!

I have a theory about The Giggle which is this: Halfway through the Toymaker will cause 14 to regenerate and it will become a de facto first episode for 15/Ncuti Gatwa.

It’s Russell T Davies making a nod toward the misdirection he did at the end of The Stolen Earth.

A YouTube ad came up my TV for a Daily Wire “comedy” called Lady Ballers.

I can’t get angry about it because it seems to have been invented to triggers liberals like me. But if that’s your reason for existing, in between a personality predisposed to callousness, it’s fucking pathetic.

I follow someone I knew from high school on Instagram who gave birth for the first time and they’ve made being an all-knowing mother a part of their identity and it legit irks me.

They’ve turned every moment of their child’s life has turned into a photoshoot. And that’s some self-centered shit.

It just occurred to me that audiences, myself included, were deprived of having Bill Pullman as a romantic lead.

I remember a time in the late 90s I needed to watch every one of his films, and I think I sought his performance in While You Were Sleeping.
