okay another part i’m so confused on — what happens if someone has a contract through like 2028, but then while playing well doesn’t qualify as a supposedly “high impact” player in 2027 or 2028? can they continue receive the high impact funds through the length of their contract? #nwsl

i absolutely love that world sevens is giving younger nwsl stars the chance to try out broadcasting!! so proud of avery and olivia! (but also hope that players of color, esp black players, are given this opportunity too — like croix, jaedyn, savy, jordyn bugg for ex would all do really well imo)

My theory is that Berman is betting on Wilson and Swanson staying in the NWSL because they won’t want to be an ocean away from their families. Assuming the new moms will accept smaller contracts, and she can leverage that as an example of the existing structure working. Disgusting behavior.

There's a lot in Jeff's article about the situation with Trin, which is important, but we mustn't forget that Haley vociferously defended Banda and Chilufya after the right came after them last year. Having someone like that leading our team will be so important.

actually crying happy tears right now!!! just insane how far this club has come and how committed they are to showing how excellence, a deep commitment to player well-being, and a strong team culture can not only coexist but are inherently intertwined 💛
the lack of any movement from spirit players or any formal announcements from the team (other than kysha’s loan sadly ending) makes me wonder if there’s either a certain re-signing or a GM announcement coming soon maybe
