President Obama getting elected in 2008 really did a number on these people and this is why we are here now. This is a hill I will die on!

As a Criminal Justice major with a love/hate relationship for the law and politics, I need my people in DC to hear me. Know your rights!

4th Amendment – No illegal searches.
5th Amendment – You have the right to remain silent (plead the Fifth).
6th Amendment – You have the right to an attorney.

I’ve always been interested in politics, and for a while I tried to stay clear of it to protect my peace. But with the current state of this country, I can’t stay silent. I will not sit by quietly and act like what’s happening is okay.

The city of Tulsa, home to one of the most horrifying racial-terror massacres in U.S. history and the people who tried to cover it up, has announced a $105 million reparations package.
Tulsa announces reparations for the 1921 ‘Black Wall Street’ massacre
It took decades of research by historians and journalists — and reports by state and federal commissions — to uncover the violence that claimed more than 300 Black lives.

This semester, while taking my Discovery Writing class, I discovered something unexpected , I love writing, and I’m actually really good at it.

But more importantly, my professor had us listen to two powerful podcast series over the past few weeks, Seeing White and The 1619 Project.

It’s #EarthDay — but some folks still treat our planet like it’s disposable.

Let’s be real: Black and Brown communities feel the impact of environmental neglect first and worst.

I’m fighting for clean air, safe water, and a livable future for all of us.

"On Tyranny" is a #1 NYT bestseller again. I wish the moment were different. But I’m glad the book is useful. And grateful for all the kind words about putting the 20 lessons to work.
