I think the social contract has been void for some time in the U.S. No amount of loyalty will guarantee a citizen's protection anymore.
I’ve never been very impressed with libertarianism because it doesn’t seem to have much regard for the social contract.
I think we can safely say that libertarianism has made itself irrelevant.

Increase in productivity since 1979: 87%

Increase in hourly pay since 1979: 32%

Just so happens that ~25% of workers were unionized in 1979. Today? 10%.

As unions declined, the super-rich have taken a larger share of wealth generated by labor. We must build back union power.

Brilliant men were so concerned with whether they COULD build a nuclear weapon that they didn't give serious thought to whether or not they SHOULD.

Now AI.

We all know that they're going to do it in the end, though, right?
Indiana Republicans are under significant pressure to do something they know is wrong: rig the maps and silence voters.

Washington Republicans are demanding a "9–0 map." That’s not democracy - that’s cheating. They know it, and they’re ashamed, which is why they’re hesitating.

Capitalism in a nutshell:

Netflix has enough money to buy Warner Brothers, but cried poverty when you shared your password with your mom.

We must recognize the destruction of the Trump Cult is just the first step in what must be done. He’s only a symptom of what’s actually wrong with the US. The hyper-concentration of wealth, monopolies and corporations-as-people systems must be obliterated or it doesn’t matter who’s in power.

We have enough money to feed, house and provide education & healthcare to all.

We don’t do it because the 1% oppose it.

The billionaire class benefits from keeping the rest of us in poverty.

They hoard the wealth and blame immigrants & marginalized people for economic hardship.

Tax the rich.

This.
All fucking day long.
I don't want to hear a damn word about the poor insurance companies that will go out of business if we get Medicare For All.
When your business model is to make more money, year over year, by denying the life saving care your customers pay for, you deserve to be put out of business.

I'm being honest here: if this goes through and it means higher prices for a netflix subscription I'm out.
Netflix’s new bid to buy Warner Bros is a mostly cash offer.

The company is arranging a mega-loan to be able to buy WB
