Let's take a big step closer to our zero waste goals. By placing a refundable 10-cent deposit on beverage containers, the bottle bill will drastically reduce litter in DC.

The bill's first hearing is coming up on Oct 1. Sign up to testify.

During this federal takeover, I know residents have a lot of questions and concerns.

Come hear from DC government officials, MPD, and on-the-ground community organizations about the increase of the federal presence.

President Trump says he wants to make D.C.'s parks beautiful again. But actually doing so will take more than new grass or streetlights – the federal government may have to accept that it kinda sucks at running parks in D.C., and maybe the city would do a better job. 51st.news/trump-wants-...
Trump says he wants to make D.C. parks great again. That might be harder than he thinks
Residents say the federal government has long created more problems than solutions for the city’s green spaces.

This is a moral moment for DC. Washingtonians are being taken off the streets and charged with crimes that even grand juries won’t indict. Residents are scared to leave their homes, and workers are scared to go to their jobs. All while they drag our city through the mud. This is wrong. Call it out.

Zero waste is the best kind of waste! DC plans to divert 80% of waste from landfills & incinerators by 2040. As we celebrate #EarthMonth, let's take a look back to this video from October talking about how @DCDPW plans to help the District achieve that goal. #SustainableDC @dczerowaste

Hope to see you there tomorrow!

This is the last week for the House to fix their devastating $1B cut to DC’s local budget before they go on vacation for the next 2 weeks. If they don’t fix their mistake, DC is left with damaging cuts to schools, public safety, & city services.

For the record. Nothing to do with rats.
The measles crisis in West Texas has claimed the life of another child, the second death in an outbreak that has burned through the region and infected dozens of residents in bordering states. www.nytimes.com/2025/04/06/h...
A Second Child Dies of Measles in Texas
It is the second confirmed measles death in the U.S. in a decade. If the outbreak continues at the current pace, the nation may lose its “elimination” status.

I’m planning a Federal Workers Town Hall in DC, and I want to hear directly from you. If you’re a federal employee or a family member of one, what do you want your local government to understand about your day-to-day challenges? And what do you need right now? Let’s talk.

The House schedule for next week doesn’t include the Senate bill that fixes the $1.1 billion hole that the House blew in D.C.’s local budget. If no action is taken next week, it gets bumped into late April or early May, pushing D.C. closer to having to start making actual cuts.
