Rules Of Engagement In A Warzone : “Use lethal force only if fired upon or if hostile intent is clearly demonstrated.”
Minnesota isn't a warzone. ICIS was NOT fired upon. There was NO hostile intent demonstrated towards ICIS & yet, they murdered 2 US citizens, In a way not done during a war...

Steve is bang on here. This is the exact reason that previous attempts were abandoned. The United States is such a massive country that this sort of defensive system doesn’t make sense. At. All.

Besides, the term “Golden Dome” is stupid and makes me unreasonably angry.
This is utter horseshit. Ballistic missile defenses have yet to be prove to work half the time.

And given that it would be nuclear weapons being tossed around, the "Dome" has to be the 100% fantasy in order to be worth spending any money on it.

and it will never be 100%.

Just a huge waste of $
The U.S. will be capable of defending “the entire nation” against ballistic missiles and other aerial threats via Golden Dome by summer 2028, and grow the architecture by 2035 to address the full range of threats as defined by the Defense Intelligence Agency, the Golden Dome director said

An extraordinary document. Read it.

“Attached to this order is an appendix that identifies 96 court orders that ICE has violated in 74 cases. … ICE has likely violated more court orders in January 2026 than some federal agencies have violated in their entire existence.”

I know the guy who owns @blackhartstp.com from my undergrad days. He is a freaking rock star. Go to Black Hart in St. Paul. Give him money for beer. Sing karaoke. Celebrate the LGBT community. Watch soccer.
You walk into this bar and show your ICE mugshot, you don't pay a dime.
Scrolling through the photos of Pam Bondi's "Minnesota rioters," it's just hero after hero. Every photo includes a cowardly DHS agent with their back to the camera.

Bondi thinks she's going to win the propaganda war with this shit, but it's never been more clear that they're losing.

Oh. It’s not over. I expect that ICE operations are intensifying outside of the Twin Cities metro area — especially in agricultural communities with animal processing plants. Those areas trend conservative, so I’m sure ICE agents are experiencing little or no resistance.
I don’t know, declaring victory in MN seems premature. They’re still arresting people and brutalizing the community. The changes appear—so far—to be cosmetic

This week I’m reading Stephen King’s The Stand. Six years after the start of the pandemic, the first bit of this book has been therapeutic. Rather than finding the story unbelievable, it seems an accurate account of how a public health disaster can be accompanied by authoritarianism & censorship.

The only use of Article 5 in NATO’s history was (checks notes) patrolling American airspace after 9/11. 🧐
Trump on NATO: "I've always said, will they be there if we ever needed them? That's really the ultimate test. I'm not sure of that. We've never needed them. They'll say they sent some troops to Afghanistan and this or that. And they did. They stayed a little back, off the front lines."

Pew Research Institute (2023):

• Red State Texas has about 2.1 million undocumented immigrants

• Red State Florida has 1.6 M undocumented immigrants

• Blue State Minnesota has 130,000.

And yet only Minnesota is being occupied by masked thugs over "immigration."

It's *not* about immigration.

I spend a lot of time at ice rinks. Usually I’m a hockey mom. Sometimes I’m a fan. Last night I hung out in “Hockey Valley.” I begrudgingly cheered when PSU scored the winning goal in the final minute of the game.

As someone who advised on US CT strikes and helped craft the legal rationale for the counter-ISIS campaign, I'll foot stomp:

The use of force arguments presented here are unserious and even inconsistent with the more well considered elements of US state practice.
This piece in @articlesofwar.bsky.social‬ , claiming that US drone strikes against Mexican cartels would be lawful, stretches the questionable "unwilling or unable" doctrine beyond the scope of self-defense, and is patently inconsistent with the lex lata of jus ad bellum. buff.ly/YDsWRrD
