I enjoy Pauper in theory. It's easier for me to get into since I can just experiment with cards I have in my collection. Even a limited pool can yield a fun result, like this energy counter theme from MH3. Now I just have to PLAY it.

As much as I want to support an LGS, seeing them gouging almost four times the MSRP for an item not even two months old yet is despicable. Borderline scalper behavior. Made all the worse because they're the only retailer carrying something I was earnestly interested in trying.

The Taurus Cup event in Umamusume feels like the game is actively spitting on me for not having done multiple career runs for each character at this point.

I don't usually do Secret Lair purchases, but I'm a lifelong fan of Sonic, so the recent drop I felt compelled to grab. It probably helped that it was pre-baked with some thematics to work around, and I dig Jeskai colors. I'll probably keep tweaking this for a while.

Yesterday I bought a box and the Jeskai precon. After a busy day off and finally getting settled in, can't wait to rip open packs of #Dragonstorm and get to work seeing what I can add to the ol' toolkit.

I don't know if it's just a thing in my area, but I don't understand the obsession with buying and building Magic decks with proxies. If I don't want to buy the cards necessary for a deck, I just build a different one. It makes me think about what I have the tools for.

While I didn't get to actually attend an event last night, I and a couple friends did get some prerelease kits and had a little sealed fun at home. Tarkir really has me so thrilled, and it feels like a perfect sealed experience. I can't wait for it to drop to crack open a box!

Last year I wanted to buy a box of Modern Horizons 3. Last night I finally did it, and after tallying up the nonbulk (any card worth $1.00 or more secondary) managed to walk away with a net plus of $136 in value. Cheaper to buy singles? No doubt, but sometimes you just wanna have fun.

You learn a lot about your own personal limitations and outlooks when building decks. I could add any number of easily purchasable cards into a hypothetical deck, but something in my brain refuses to add anything over the ~$20 range, as I don't like buying singles more than that.

I was browsing through my decks on Moxfield when I realized I had forgotten to finish a deck. I pulled Alania from a prerelease and wanted to make something Izzet colored anyway, so I had started working... and just never finished. So I finally got that squared away.

On the one hand, Pauper is such an exciting format to get into because it's a very affordable alternative to high cost formats like EDH and Modern.

When I was a kid any of these shows would grab my attention for at least a season of watching. But Mystic Knights was an absolute craic, and I'd wager the series I had the most toys for after Power Rangers. So glad people are remembering it and talking about it, especially these OSW Lads.
