It’s not hyperbole to say that the deaths in Minnesota are on the GOP’s hands. They’ve built this political environment and they’ve allowed a demagogue to spread hate. This is entirely on them.

One of the brilliant things our current iteration of oligarchs did is get people to conceive of free speech as being able to call your coworkers slurs rather than using it to say stuff like why are my tax dollars subsidizing your billionaire ass

@housegop.bsky.social JUST VOTED TO CUT Medicaid, SNAP benefits, school meals, & housing assistance all in exchange for giving corporations & billionaires a tax cut all at the  expense of the middle class.

It’s not a “savings” if you’re getting fewer services in exchange. I’m still paying the same taxes!

Seriously though. When do we get to stop paying federal taxes?

The word "unserious" did a lot of heavy lifting over the last few months, but someone recently used it to describe the US government and I don't think there is a better word to describe it right now. Unserious culture wars to keep from solving our very serious problems. It feels like a scary joke

People not elected to government should not have the power to reshape the government, especially people whose obscene wealth depends on the government functioning a certain way.

This is not a hot take.

It's just plain common sense.
