things I didnt know - the biggest concentrations of Marvel comics collectors and fans in the UK grew up in seaside towns during the 60s and 70s. Why you ask? because comics that didnt sell in the UK were sold to shipping companies for use as BALLAST to keep ships stable if they were under loaded.
