I think there are still shared norms we can appeal to when we talk to the marginal MAGA voter. But there really are no shared norms left with the core of the movement.

That is precious. And they absolutely do know.

We had a routine where I would whisper for him to come learn a secret and he would come close lean in and tilt his head for me to whisper in his ear. It was always either for a treat or a car ride and he’d be so calm until he found out which.

I miss the pets and the hugs, but thinking about it and I miss his specific hugs. He never lost his puppy fur no matter how old he got- it was so soft and cool. I’d dive into his neck and grab his scruff such a calming experience.
