Hi, I'm a fantasy artist in Connecticut. You'll often find my love of history, particularly the 18th century, pulsating through my work. I live for visual storytelling, fairy tales where the hero overcomes the worst odds, powerful magic women and rich worlds. 💙 #portfolioday #art thebrassglass.com

Happy Halloween!! 🎃 This is my most ambitious digital painting yet; 50+ hours in Procreate. I challenged myself to tell a story through setting and props, and try my hand at magic effects. Learned so much!

Happy Halloween! 🎃 🖤⭐️

The scarab was a symbol for the creation god Khepri & represented resurrection, transformation & rebirth. During the Egyptian art revival Victorians fascinated by the occult, incorporated scarabs into their fashion & homes as a way to tap into mystical energies & ward off evil

Inspired by a post I saw about the (alleged) bones of Mary Magdalene. I just had to give my (deceased) DnD warlock Ecstasy Goldentongue a similar treatment.

If only his Midas-esque Patron/King/Lover had access to more remains than just a lock of his hair....

By now, I'm guessing most have already seen the news on our new project, Nightshade. Lots of artists sharing it, but here's the article from MIT Technology Review (tyvm to the wonderful Melissa Heikkila). This is a thread explaining Nightshade & its goals www.technologyreview.com/2023/10/23/1...
This new data poisoning tool lets artists fight back against generative AI
The tool, called Nightshade, messes up training data in ways that could cause serious damage to image-generating AI models.

By late 18th century, major vessels could require as many as 6,000 trees to be felled for construction proposes. In most cases these trees were oak trees

Many ship timbers enjoyed a second much longer life when used in house construction after a ship was scrapped

Experimentation I did years ago, copying a Maxfield Parrish palette across an entire issue of Hawkeye. Not something I'd use as I wouldn't rip off a palette like that, but it was fun to play with. Hidden lineart by @davaja.bsky.social

Made a small test page with ideas for my next comic. (Mind you these panels are not in any correct order, just samples to test the use of watercolor, ink and digital.) In the future I want to make a paranormal horror story when my first comic is finished. 🖤👻

Another OC introduction from my webcomic Era of Iridore: Hauk! He often lacks a "indoor voice", never afraid to speak his mind and joke around, taking pleasure in getting people out of their shell and serve a good laugh. Addicted to smoking and recovered alcoholic, bisexual and sometimes obnoxious.
