Was once told my late-submission request for a paper on dinosaur anatomy had been missed, and I could either write to the exam board pleading my case, or hand in by 4pm that day and eat the 5% late penalty. I spent that five hours knowing more about dinosaur anatomy than anyone on earth.

I wrote a 20 page paper about the impact of Jules Verne on journalism in the 1890s in about 14 hours pulling a massive all-nighter at my mom’s place before hopping MARTA and turning it in.

Not only did I get an A-, I got an honorable mention award from my department at their end of semester party.

Energy requirements for AI mean that the only way for the bubble not to burst would require companies to multiply their carbon footprint to an unimaginable degree. Right now, while AI is barely functional and mostly a novelty for the lazy, it requires so much energy that data centers rival cities.

I personally do not understand their reason at all. Yes, I want stickers and prints, that's partly why I'm a patreon. But at the same time, it's not time sensitive and you're human.

My guess, they probably didn't read the info about the Deutsche Post changes, but still I don't understand it.
