I may be tired and a little hoarse, but as I said again and again on the Senate floor, this is a moment where we cannot afford to be silent, when we must speak up.

NEBRASKA CROWD: “TAX THE RICH! TAX THE RICH!”

@USRepMikeFlood: “So your proposal to solve (the debt) is tax the rich?”

NEBRASKA CROWD: *CHEERS WILDLY*

(not sure this went quite as he planned 😬)

My heart is so broken. Trump's executive order against trans people is just another example of him wielding power to harm vulnerable communities, showing once again how he uses his platform to promote division and discrimination instead of real leadership. I hope everyone is as okay as they can be.

Ive said this before. Unions have a moment in time to create parallel, Non Profit Trust or Associated Health Plans and
offer them to small to medium size businesses.

Unions can negotiate far better than SMBs or associations .

Imagine if millions got their healthcare from unions ?

Thoughts ?

Wow it’s finally February 1st. Felt like January was 6 months long. Hopefully we don’t wake up to a tragedy once every week this month. With the state of things currently, who am I kidding. It’s not looking promising.

Debunking can be a fun way to find an audience in science communication, but I think it can be over-relied on.

We should be celebrating more than we are defending, not just because it’s less miserable, but also because it’s good marketing!

The thing about the climate change “debate” is that if the advocates pushing for clean energy are wrong the worst that’ll happen is people get cleaner air and water. But if the climate change denialists are wrong (which they are) we’re all doomed.

Remember: Almost all of us are the descendants of immigrants who fled persecution, or were brought to America under duress, or sought better lives for themselves and their descendants.

Politicians who stoke fear and hatred over immigration want you to forget this.

Do not.
