Just a pathetic walk back by Joe Kelly. This “open relationship” shit always felt fetishy too cuz they want to still keep Felicia as a side piece instead of having her move on

And in reality, you are making it all worse by taking what these people are posting at face value and ascribing the power to bring their insane reality into being to them.

And it failed, miserably, and it failed so miserably it required all the people in charge to walk it back and say "we're just smol beans, it was market pressure not us."

Just because Stephen Miller dreams about cosplaying as a nazi and camps doesn't mean he can bring it into being.

I think the Jimmy Kimmel stuff is going to go down as the mountain where the attempted consolidation completely failed. And it's because it wasn't even trying to disappear someone, wasn't even trying to put someone in jail, it was just trying to use the levers of capitalism to go after jokes.

You don't know who's watching, you don't know who's listening, keep your head down and don't make any waves. Standing out is dangerous.

The concept that we could get on the internet and call our leader an Orange shitbird would be outrageous to her, and would probably terrify her.

As many of you know, Schnorkwife lived in Russia for a couple of years, and one of the people she lived with came to age in the worst of the gulag times. Whether or not you want to argue about how bad the society was or was not at that time, she was always very clear:

I've been watching the battle raging in @radiofreetom.bsky.social's threads over his (what I think is absolutely correct) point about the difference between the people in charge being kinda fashy, and the fact that we certainly aren't living in a fascist society yet.

Thing of it is it wasn't Kelly. It was Lowe saying this sort of thing in the letter's page while Wells was still writing it.

I think it was a sign of a bit of a disconnect between where Wells wanted to take things and what Lowe wanted.

So what exactly was the point of the whole "Peter and Shay aren't really boyfriend/girlfriend" thing?

Given Lowe was walking back the Shay stuff even before Wells was done, I wonder if perhaps this was a situation of Wells thinking he had this grand story of Peter "moving on" from MJ and thinking Shay was going to be "Here to stay" while Lowe and co were like "Okay, just let him think that."

Even money it's also because of MJ.

I heard from a local card shop that Spider-Man is selling well, but not among players.

Drafts don't fire. Regulars aren't buying many packs/boxes, but people casually interested in the set have picked up a good number of cards.

Not sure if this is everywhere.

Credit to them for remembering Marge started out more as a Peg Bundy type.

With the way DC has new initiatives after certain events, and looking at certain books that have ended, my guess is that DC KO will be the "end" of All-In. I guess the only question is whether the next linewide initiative will only be for the main universe, or like All-In, it includes Absolute.

i wonder just how much of the live action disney remakes is literally just "we need a film the kids to see and don't care" money

We're also talking Raimi Spider-Man, OG X-Men films. Clone Wars cartoon was 2008. People are waxing nostalgic on the Disney era Power Rangers. So, yeah, there's a lot.

Weaponized gratitude is a key tool in the abuser's toolkit. The goal is to convince the victim that they owe the abuser so much, they should feel guilty for wanting to complain.
Tweet from the VP:
Joy Reid has had such a good life in this country. It's been
overwhelmingly kind and gracious to her. She is far wealthier than most.
Yet she oozes with contempt.
My honest, non-trolling advice to Joy Reid is that you'd be a much
happier person if you showed a little gratitude

Popular consensus is that we're at the beginning of a 50-year Kondratiev wave, with AI powering the next boom. But it's just as likely we're at the end of a 50-year Pérez wave, where AI is a speculative, relatively arcane investment that we've settled on after the other growth opportunities dried up

MORGAN STANLEY: “.. it’s difficult to ignore the market’s reliance on AI capex. In market-pricing terms, we believe we’re closer to the seventh inning than the first, and several developments indicate we may be entering the later phases of the boom.” 👀

It just continue to show the self centered mindset of a particular generation- now in their *sixth decade on the planet*- and how they continually regard themselves as the primary audiences and their experiences as the only ones that matter.

A married Spidey with kids is late 20's/early 30's to- at *best*- early 40's.

He is still a good *twenty years younger* than most of the guys complaining about the character "aging" with them. And there's no indication he will get "older" than that.

I love the creators of a certain generation complaining about not wanting Spider-Man to "Grow old with them."

It's like- dude, you guys are entering or are *in* your 60's.

A married Spider-Man with a kid *is still younger than you are!*
