At a time when govts around the globe seem able to find money for militarisation but not basic public services, Prof Cynthia Enloe shows us it is vital to be curious about how ideas about masculinity & femininity are used to justify war-waging and pressure men to fight: nowandmen.net/episode/cynt...

Fellow feminists! I found this podcast with @claremcglynn.bsky.social eye-opening and inspiring—on big tech and gender inequality; the expressive value of criminal law; anticarceral feminism and kaleidoscopic justice; and how to cope as a feminist researcher working on “deeply despairing” material.

On #NowandMen, @claremcglynn.bsky.social argues that the online world doesn't just reflect sexism & misogyny in society more broadly. From 'nudify' AI apps to strangulation in pornography it *turbocharges* it, because that suits the business model of the tech companies: nowandmen.net/episode/clar...

What a great statement from the UK women's sector, calling out the rank hypocrisy of media, politicians & far-right groups suddenly claiming to care about violence against women & girls if it helps them to scapegoat people who are seeking asylum, on the masculinist basis of 'protecting' 'our' women.

Clare is a Professor of Law at @durham-university.bsky.social, and has long been a trailblazer in shedding light on how tech and pornography companies are feeding sexism and misogyny with proliferating issues such as image-based sexual abuse. It was such a privilege to speak to her on #NowandMen!

Amidst all the public attention towards AI and the tech industry, something not being talked about nearly enough is how they are exacerbating gender inequality and violence against women. So how can we hold them to account? We discuss with @claremcglynn.bsky.social: nowandmen.net/episode/clar...

I was pleased to meet with people from the @evawuk.bsky.social at their New Paths to Prevention event today - focussed on engaging more boys and men in the campaign to end violence against women and girls.

It's kinda concerning that Ofcom, who we rely on to regulate internet companies in the UK, have published this. The only way we have overestimated the risk of the manosphere, is if we have underestimated the risk of patriarchal norms in society more broadly... www.theguardian.com/society/2025...
